Dear parent / carer

Year 4 and Year 5 Trip to ‘Thinktank’ – Change of Date - Friday 13.03.26

Due to the rearranged date for Young Voices, we have made the decision to change the Y4 and Y5 Thinktank visit to Friday 13th March.  As children from these year groups are attending Young Voices and we know this event is a late evening, we felt it would be a lot to have an early start the next morning.

All other details remain the same:

For this trip, we will be leaving at 8.30am (to allow the children to get the most out of the day) and returning to school before 3.30pm. Drop off will be at the main office at 8.15am please.

Thinktank is an award-winning Science museum located in Birmingham. Whilst there, we will explore the museum and take part in a ‘Changing Materials’ workshop. This session has demonstrations and exciting hands-on experiments working with solids, liquids and gases. Pupils will explore how substances can change from one state to another and back again. There’s also the chance to show off their scientific skills by accurately measuring the ingredients needed to make their very own slime!

We will be travelling by coach and ask for a voluntary contribution of £20.00 towards the entrance ticket, workshop and coach. Please make your payment and give consent on Arbor by Friday 6th March, at the latest. Please note that if we do not receive enough contributions for this trip, we may need to cancel it.

Children must wear school full school uniform and will require a packed lunch. They should also bring a water bottle and snack. If your child normally receives free school meals and you require a grab bag for them, please contact the school office prior to the trip. The children will also have to opportunity to visit the on-site giftshop, but we ask that there is a £5 spending limit. Children will not be allowed to purchase anything more than this value. If you wish for your child to bring the optional spending money, please send the money in an appropriate container such as an envelope or purse/wallet with your child’s name clearly labelled.

If your child requires medication whilst out on the visit, please fill in the appropriate forms in the office and send the medication on the day in a sealed bag/envelope with their name on.

If you have any further questions, please do let us know.

Thank you for your continued support.
